Part 2,

So now we have our 3 block walls up,  reinforced and surface bonded.  We have good solid footers under them,  and one footer on the south side of the house (where the entry/windows are going to go) That we have yet to build a wall on.  The next step is to prepare to pour the concrete slab which will be 'floor' of the house.  But before we can pour the concrete we need to do some 'very' important things first!

We need to put in the plumbing for all the drains in the house,  put insulation under the slab and install our radiant heating tubes to heat the floor when its cold.

Wrap up!

So here we are,   We have 3 walls of my house now standing.  All things included thus far.

  • Rentals = $600 (backhoe)
  • Tools =  $700 (cement mixer, hand tools etc)
  • Blocks = $1,600
  • Wood = $150
  • Cement/mortar  = $2,200
  • Food and beer for the friends = $250  (and well spent!)

So we are at a total of, $5500.00
